Pokemon 2000 The Movie

Review by Moxe44

JULY 25, 2000

Well the much awaited Pokemon2000 movie has arrived!
Much to the delight of every pokemon fanatic in the United States.
Matt (my nephew) and I were the 20th in line at Hoyts Cinema to insure that we got the Ancient Mew Card which we did.
The card is totally holographic and is varius colors and tints.
The back side of the card is also sparkling which makes it very special.
You get one card per ticket and the other cards that are available are promos Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno.
The first movie was similar to Pikachus Vacation only it was called Pikachus rescue adventure.
It is about 15 minutes and only the Pokemon are in it.
Ash is in it a little bit in beginning and at end but it is mostly just the Pokemon.
I dont want to give it away for you who have not seen it but it is a fun little movie with everyones favorite Pikachu.
The Pokemon2000 movie is really cool. They introduce several new Pokemon including Luigia a cool pokemon that can go both in and under water and also fly.
It lasts for about an hour and a half and it is very colorful and keeps you at the edge of your seat the entire movie.
I dont want to give the story away for those who have not seen it but it is well worth the price of admission especially when you get a promo card in the deal as well.
You can go to moviefone.com and find out where it is playing in movie theater nearest you.
If you have any questions please contact Moxemaker staff and we will be happy to answer them for you.
Enjoy the Movie and the Promo Cards.

Do You Really Have to Catch Them All?

By: Jim Verry
Moxe44@aol.com(Webmaster2)
Dated: April 30th, 2000

I am writing this article to reasure all you pokemon collectors that you Do Not have to Catch them all. Pokemon has turned into a billion dollar industry. The companies have put Pokemon on everything from fruit roll-ups to vitamins to maccaroni and cheese.
In English alone there are Basic, Jungle, Fossil, Series 2 and now Team Rocket. This doesn't even count the Japanese cards and the new Neo set.
The point I'm trying to make is you will never be able to catch them all. Because as soon as you get all the ones out there, the company will make new ones. Matt (My Nephew) and I are trying to collect all 150 original English Monsters which include Basic, Jungle and Fossil and Mew is number 151. This is going to take a long time if we can ever do it maybe 2 to 3 years. We figure the journey to catch them will be just as much fun as finally getting them.
Don't forget that Ash Ketchum only has 6 Pokemon and Team Rocket only has what 2 or 3. So Pokemon collectors:
Have fun with Pokemon!

What Is the Pokemon League?

By Jim Verry
Moxe44@aol.com(Webmaster2)

I know that all of you have heard about the Poke League by now. This article is dedicated to the Poke League and hopefully will give Pokemon trainers a clearer idea of what it is like.
Matt and I went to our first Poke League meeting on Saturday at KB Toys. Matt was nervous not knowing what to expect. We went up to the two gym leaders and told them we wanted to join. They were nice and had Matt fill out an application and gave him what is called his point book.
The information they wanted to know is Name, Address, favorite pokemon, telephone number and email address if you have one. They explained the point system to us. Here is a list of how you can get points.
10 pts. for joining, 10 pts for battling, 10 pts for winning, 10 pts for trading, and you get pts for doing cool activities.
As you accumulate points you can get special promo cards and badges given out only by the Poke League.
We discovered the Poke League has beginners like Matt, more expereienced and experts. You can even battle the gym leaders. So there is something for everyone regardless of your experience.
People brought their pokemon cards in notebooks, some in shoeboxes, soft sleeves, toploaders, some in decks with rubber bands. Although they were all different, theay all shared their love for Pokemon and a willingness to share their knoweldge with others.
If you have any questions about Poke League feel free to contact me Jim (Moxe44), or Boris (Freemaker9)
Good Luck!
Yours in Pokemon Fun!

Team Rocket and Moxemaker: Both Blasting Off

by Jim Verry
E-mail: Moxe44@aol.com

Team Rocket Pokemon have arrived.
Just like Moxemaker Team Rocket has hit the Pokemon Scene with a blast.
This is the fourth series introduced by Wizards of the Coast.
Team Rocket comes on the heels of basic, jungle and fossil series.
Already there is controversey in that the set is only supposed to have 82 cards.
But the last card Dark Raichu is numbered 83/82.
There is much speculation that this could be an error card that will soon be removed or at the very least the 83/82 changed to read 83/83.
Whatever the reason Dark Raichus are the second most popular Team Rocket card after of course Dark Charizard Holo.
Wizards of the Coast decided to come out with Dark Charizard Holo and a matching parralel dark charizard non holo.
Pokemon Collectors can now purchase a Dark Charizard non holo non first addition for a reasonable price.
Moxemaker has a nice supply of 1rst Addition Team Rockets and Unlimited Team Rockets and everyday the inventory is growing.
Just go to Pokeshop and check out the supply.
Another error that was found by Moxemaker is on Dark Arbok where it is supposed to say gamefreak 1999-2000 it says gamefreak 1999-23000.
I'm sure Wizards will catch up with this error as well making the ones that say 23000 that much more rare.
Team Rocket has 3 Rare Holo Trainer Cards. This is the first time that Wizards has made an english holo as part of a series.
Moxemaker also has these trainer cards in stock as well.
The Team Rockets come in cool looking black packs with 3 pictures on the front iether Team Rocket (Jesse and James),
Dark Gyrados or The Boss on the cover and Team Rocket printed across in large block red lettering.
First additions have a black circle on the cover but its a sure bet that no stores will have any left at this point or else will be charging a heavy premium for them.
Poke League has come out with a promo pre release Dark Gyrados Holo to promote the Team Rocket series.
If you join the Poke League you may be able to get one.
There is also a Trainer promo card called Computer Error that can only be earned as member of Poke League.
In the June Issue of Becketts Pokemon Collector they list all of the Team Rocket cards.
Price guide in becketts won't come out until the July Issue.
All in All its very fitting that Moxemaker and Team Rocket are blasting off together.
Any questions on Team Rocket can be addressed to Moxemaker Staff.
