Gameboy Color Yellow is very similar to the red and blue versions.
One of the differences that seperates the yellow version from red and blue is the fact that you receive Pikachu as your first Pokemon.
Not only that but Pikachu refuses to stay in its Pokeball and instead follows you around on screen the way he follows Ash on the TV series and Movie.
You can turn around at any time and check Pikachus mood by looking at his facial expression.
If you keep Pikachu happy you willl be rewarded at certain points in the game.
Some Pokemon won't evolve until they're traded with another player.
You use a link cable (sold seperatlly for around $10.00) attached from one Gameboy into another.
Then the Pokemon will evolve but will remain on the other players game pack.
These Pokemon earn many more experiance points in battle than Pokemon that have never been traded.
You can also challenge other players to battles using the link cable.
